Position Summary

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for implementing, designing, and maintaining CREA data systems. These systems include Master Data Management, Data Warehousing, and Data Integration, along with all related data pipelines. A successful candidate is a seasoned leader and data practitioner with deep technical depth to drive engineering platforms, initiatives, and partnerships across the company.


This role will contribute to CREA’s transition from on-premises SQL workloads to Azure Fabric based data platform, unifying data engineering, warehousing, and analytics into a cloud-native architecture enabling Power BI-driven reporting and AI-powered analytics across all business functions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead/participate in modernization and migration of on-prem SQL Server workloads to Azure/Fabric, including re-platforming and validation.

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable data pipelines and integrations.

  • Drive Power BI/Fabric governance (semantic models, workspace management, row-level security) and adoption of AI-assisted analytics capabilities.

  • Develops and maintains ETL/ELT processes for structured and semi-structured data, including scheduling, orchestration, and documentation.

  • Ingest, transform, and integrate structured and unstructured data into centralized data platforms (data warehouse/lakehouse).

  • Develop, maintain, and evaluate data solutions that support analytics and business operations.

  • Participate and support data architecture standards and platform/tool decisions (e.g., Azure, Microsoft Fabric).

  • Coordinate with IT and Business users to collect, compile, normalize, and analyze data assets across projects and platforms.

  • Maintain and support data infrastructure performance, reliability, and monitoring across cloud and on-prem environments.

  • Implement data quality, validation, and monitoring controls; investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve discrepancies.

  • Establish and support data governance practices that protect data integrity and maximize business value.

  • Champion data security, compliance, and governance standards; ensure adherence to company and IT guidelines.

  • Produce operational reports and dashboards; communicate complex analytical results and insights to stakeholders.

  • Serve as a data Subject Matter Expert —partner with IT and business users to define analysis plans and answer key business questions.

  • Research and recommend improvements to data warehouse/reporting infrastructure, MDM, data virtualization, and integration/pipeline capabilities.

  • Build reusable, replicable code and automation to streamline data processing, estate tracking, and repetitive data management tasks.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer Science, or a related field required, advanced degree preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering or development with increasing responsibility, including experience as an individual contributor and collaborating across teams.

  • Demonstrated experience building and evolving data platforms and roadmaps to support business decision-making and organizational initiatives.

  • Strong expertise in designing, integrating, securing, monitoring, and optimizing data platforms to support BI, analytics, data science, and real-time use cases.

  • Experience working with APIs to integrate and exchange data across systems and platforms.

  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools for data analysis, automation, or solution development (e.g., Azure AI services, document processing, orchestration tools).

  • Ability to travel up to 5% to other CREA office locations as needed.

  • Industry experience in Real Estate, Financial Services, Banking, or Fin Tech is preferred

  • Azure Data Platform: SQL Server Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Fabric Warehouse, Data Factory)

  • Data Integration / ETL: Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric

  • Analytics & Reporting: Power BI, Power Query, DAX, data visualization

  • Business Applications: Microsoft 365 (O365, SharePoint, OneDrive), VSTO/C# .NET Add-ins

  • Development & DevOps Tools: GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, Power BI Deployment Pipelines,      Visual Studio, Monday.com
