Position Summary

The Senior Accounting Analyst will be responsible for handling various aspects of accounting for CREA, LLC and the CREA Foundation. The candidate has a direct responsibility for maintaining general ledger accounts and cash accounting, including processing receipts for all accounts receivable and performing bank reconciliations, preparing journal entries and posting to the General Ledger, and producing various accounting and financial reports. More detail on the responsibilities mentioned above may include but are not limited to the following responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

Revenue/Billing (30%)

  • Monitor and track all project-related revenue related to closing fees and revenue projections

  • Invoice Lower Tier Asset Management Fees

  • Invoice as needed Syndication Fees, Tenant File Fees, and Construction Fees;

  • Monitor collections of all fees, including Asset Management and Deferred fees


Treasury/Cash Management (20%)

  • Process all previous day wire activity in the accounting system;

  • Approve outgoing wires/transfers;

  • Process all receipts for accounts receivable;

  • Monitor bank accounts for sufficient cash on a daily basis;

  • Perform Bank Reconciliations on a monthly basis for all bank accounts.


Financial Reporting (10%)

  • Assist in the preparation of support needed for interim audit, year-end audit, and tax filings;

  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly financial reports;

  • Prepare and process various journal entries in the general ledger;

  • Prepare and maintain other monthly reports on an as needed basis


Foundation Accounting (CREA Foundation) (10%):

  • Prepare support needed for interim audit, year-end audit, and tax filings;

  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports;

  • Prepare and process various journal entries in the general ledger using QuickBooks;

  • Prepare and maintain other monthly reports on an as needed basis


Fixed Assets (10%)

  • Set-up new fixed assets in accordance with IRS requirements and CREA best practices

  • Review list of fixed assets on a monthly basis for any old assets that need to be disposed

  • Process journal entries to record asset additions, disposals, and depreciation

  • Prepare support needed for the personal property audits


Leases (5%)

  • Responsible for entering all lease payments in Tracker

  • Responsible for setting up/maintaining all Lease Liability Schedules

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for leases.


Miscellaneous & Technology (5%)

  • Act as primary liaison between Finance & Accounting and IT

  • Serve as team lead on any F&A IT related projects and updates


Accounts Payable (5%)

  • Act as primary backup for Accounts Payable

  • Weekly- process accounts payables including tracking deal related expenses;

  • Monthly- review, evaluate and process employee expense reimbursements according to company guidelines.


Travel & Expense System Administrator (5%)

  • Act as a primary backup for Travel & Expense System Administrator, AMEX billing & reporting

  • Reconcile Egencia reports and AMEX billing;

  • Process journal entries to record expenses, including tracking deal related expenses


Various miscellaneous accounting activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and update entity reports for internal and third-party purpose

  • Serve as back-up for other CREA accounting functions as needed;

  • Manage relationships with external parties on an ongoing basis.

Job Requirements

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of four years public and/or accounting experience. Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and Sage Fixed Assets Software is a plus. CPA is a plus, but not required. This position requires communication skills for internal and external relationships. Must possess and be able to demonstrate effectiveness with each of the following Core Competencies.
