The Corporate Event Manager is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of internal and external events, ensuring a successful delivery of logistics and a positive client experience. The position requires meeting and event planning experience and involves a significant amount of communication with internal and external meeting and event stakeholders.
Event Planning and Management (~40%)
Outline and establish project plans and timelines and communicate to internal stakeholders to implement event details industry/employee/special events
Lead the planning and execution of offsite event planning by negotiating space contracts and booking event space, arranging food and beverage, arrange entertainment, ordering supplies, equipment, and signage, and ensuring appropriate décor to meet quality and align with brand expectations
Supervise or perform the smooth set-up, running, and break down of events, identifying and resolving problems
Responsible for coordination of internal CREA events, including the annual CREA Live / Celebration, Summer Solstice, St. Patrick’s Day parade, and any other CREA sponsored employee events
Responsible for budget development and post-event reporting/recap
Coordinate client trips/events for members of senior management as needed
Update and maintain a calendar with Industry Conferences and other
Conferences and Dinners (~40%)
Manage and track sponsorship, registration, and membership requests, process payment and facilitate the benefits associated with each sponsorship
Oversee the process of shipping all conference materials and ordering transportation and set-up services for the exhibit booth at five to seven conferences per year
Attend and represent approximately a dozen industry conferences annually where CREA booth is present
Organize and coordinate Company dinners during large conferences
Research venues, plan menus, send out calendar/email invitations, manage RSVP’s, create and process name tags, seating arrangements and transportation for all company sponsored events
Secondary Responsibilities (~20%)
Work closely with VP, Marketing Communications Manager for necessary design needs; i.e. invitations, customized email announcements, social media, ads, banners, etc.
Attend Grand Openings and Ground Breakings as needed
Performs other duties and projects based on CREA business needs
Collaborates with the Executive Director of CREA Foundation to support needs for CREA Scholar and CREA Foundation Fundraising events
A successful candidate is required to have 3-5 years of event management and coordination experience. Associates degree in event planning or a related field is required, a candidate holding a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Individual needs to be a highly motivated, self-starter who is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a productive, independent fashion as well as part of a team. Must have the ability to anticipate needs, prioritize, organize, and manage tasks and meet deadlines; and provide outstanding customer service. Must have a valid driver’s license, 15% to 20% travel throughout the year including air travel, up to thirty overnights in addition to five to ten evening events. Must possess and be able to demonstrate effectiveness with each of the following Core Competencies.
